OUR STORY

It all began when my mom started baking her famous pound cake when I was a teenager. I was often
pulled into the kitchen to help her gather and mix ingredients and bake the cakes. Mom’s pound cake
was in such demand that selling them helped her go on a trip abroad with her choir. Fast forward
several years later and I am baking my mom’s famous pound cake and being asked if I make other
flavors. I baked cakes and gave them away as gifts. Then, my son and a friend said, “Stop giving your
cakes away and start selling them.” Thus, Shay’s Cakes came to be seven years ago towards the end of
2016, when I realized that baking cakes was a gift and talent that God has placed in me.
Shay’s Cakes makes home made bundt cakes in three sizes. The 10-inch feeds 12-15, the 6-inch
individual feeds 1-4, and the 4-inch mini is for one serving. I keep it simple by only baking bundt cakes,
no fondant, or layers. The flavors offered are pound, lemon, chocolate, sweet potato, red velvet, 7-up,
and carrot.
